Sleep
There is not enough that can be said about getting the proper amount of sleep each night.  I for one am guilty of not getting enough sleep.  I can tell you that I can feel the difference in my body and the way I function when I do not get the proper amount of sleep.  I can also tell the difference when I do get the proper amount of sleep.   Research has shown that there is no set number to determine how much sleep is needed.  However, research has also shown that sleep is important and the lack there of can lead to serious complications later on.  Sleep patterns are determined by our activity during the day, age, health and what the body needs.  Our bodies are machines, if you will, and you get out of them what we put into them.  If we constantly run any piece of machinery, it is going to wear out.  Well, the same is true for our body.  If we do not get the sleep we need, we will wear our body out.  Not only will we wear our body out, but we may put others at risk if we are driving when we are tired, or we may accidentally drop things, or we may take too much of a prescribed medication.  One rule of thumb to remember when it is time for your body to rest, is to listen to it.  Here's to good sleeping.
