Nurture
The word nurture means to feed and protect: to nurture one's offspring. To support and encourage, as during the period of training or development; foster: to nurture promising musicians.  When used as a noun it means to rear, upbringing, education, or the like.  development:  the nurture of young artists, something that nourishes; nourishment; food.
The word nurture may be associated with a woman who nurtures her child as it grows up.  The word nurture may have a spiritual aspect for some people.  For example, to provide (someone) with moral or spiritual understanding<she feels that her lifelong practice of reading the Bible daily has nurtured her in ways she cannot describe>.
